Homai Campus School
The Homai Campus School is a specialist school for children and young people who are blind, deaf blind or have low vision, including those with additional disabilities. Each learner has an individual educational plan with the BLENNZ Curriculum as the focus for learning.
Satellite Classes at James Cook High School
The James Cook Satellite Classes are located at James Cook High School, 5 minutes drive from the BLENNZ Homai Campus School. The students who attend, participate in varied and individualised programmes within both the satellite and mainstream class settings. The opportunity to work within both allows for increased educational and social outcomes for aakonga. These satellite classes are for aakonga aged 14 years to 21 years.
Satellite Classes at Tamaoho School
The Tamaoho Satellite Classes are located at Tamaoho School in Pukekohe, Auckland. Students aged from 5 years to 14 years can typically attend this site, with intensive teaching and specialist support to access the curriculum. Being part of Tamaoho allows for inclusive interactions in sporting, cultural and social activities enabling aakonga to connect with the wider school community.
Satellite Classes at Scott Point School
The Scott Point Satellite Classes are located at Scott Point School in Hobsonville, Auckland. Aakonga who attend these classes are aged 5 years to 14 years and are supported with specialised teaching and therapy services. Inclusive opportunities are evident in a range of educational contexts, encouraging aakonga involvement across the Scott Point School community.
Transition Pathway Programme
The Transition Pathway Programme provides an opportunity for young adults who are blind or low vision to make the transition to tertiary, the workplace or independent living. BLENNZ staff – including Resource Teachers Vision, Residential Youth Workers and support staff work closely with the students to support the development of individual goals and achievement.
BLENNZ Residential Services
Homai Residential Services provides residential placements for ākonga who are blind or have low vision and attend the Homai Campus School (including the satellite class at James Cook High School) or The Manurewa High School. Homai Residential Services provide residential accommodation for students in Nikau Hostel to support their best educational placement.
