In 2014 BLENNZ Christchurch celebrated 50 years of being based at Elmwood Normal School.
On the 1st of March, over 100 students, former students and their families, past and present staff and friends of the Visual Centre joined together to celebrate this milestone.
Guests enjoyed presentations by Mike Offord detailing the early years of the Visual Centre and Raewyn Edwards, who spoke about the transition to BLENNZ from Elmwood Visual Resource Centre.
Shari Whittaker-Tyro listened while gave a student’s perspective of BLENNZ Christchurch and Tim Marshall presented information about the PVI.
Musical entertainment was provided by talented former and present students – Ollie, James and Lee on the marimbas, Itan and Jonathan on the keyboard. Children plus some adults also enjoyed the bouncy castle and face painting.
A sausage sizzle and delicious cake provided sustenance to all.
