BLENNZ Residential Services

Homai Residential Services provides residential placements for students who are blind or low vision and attend Homai Campus School (including the satellite class at James Cook High School) or Manurewa High School.

The residential programmes support the IEP goals and may include

  • Self care skills
  • Adaptive Daily Living Skills
  • Social skills and communication
  • Orientation and Mobility
  • Recreation and leisure

Students participate in the wider community and enjoy a range of activities including blind cricket, ten-pin bowling, cultural festivals and visits to Auckland’s Regional Parks.

Students’ accommodation and travel costs are provided and students travel home at the end of each term, either independently or with an adult escort as required.
