BLENNZ Christchurch student groups get together to learn different skills

Fun Friday Workshops

“Fun Friday” continues to be popular with our 6 to 10 age group. The students particularly enjoy learning daily living skills while cooking and our “Master Chef” group challenge was hotly contested.

They also have fun learning recreational skills and social skills, and many lovely friendships have developed within the group.

This year’s group of Peer Support students (Marama, Luca, Zahina, Te Roma and Zack) have shown great leadership skills and have been a great help and role models for the others.

A student is balancing on a tall green cylinder at a climbing and jumping centre. She is about to jump onto the ground.

Intelligent In Be Tweens

The “Intelligent In Be Tweens” are a new group of Year 7 and 8 students who come together once a term to practice skills from the Expanded Core Curriculum.

The group get out and about having fun while focusing on Orientation and Mobility for pedestrians and using the bus; Daily Living Skills; using technology to help problem solving to overcome issues caused by their vision; social skills and recreation skills.
