On Monday 17th June Len Brown, the Mayor of Auckland, visited Homai Campus. His visit lasted an hour and was a happy event for the students. We started with a Mihi Whakatau which was attended by the whole school, including Kickstart and James Cook, with students taking a leading part. The mayor knew a few of the students from Christmas parties past and took great delight in connecting with them again. They loved his ‘free-styling’:

‘I’m Len Brown
And you’re in my town
It’s great that Len’s
Here at BLENNZ’
After a cup of tea in the staffroom with the Kickstart and James Cook students the mayor visited the classrooms and engaged with some of the students as they were working.
