The day provided a valuable opportunity for all involved to come together in an inclusive environment focused on engagement, participation, and skill development within athletics.
Ākonga rotated through a range of events, including long jump, shot put, high jump, discus, and running. Each rotation was structured to break down the key skills involved, with clear verbal descriptions, modelling, and the use of both typical and adapted equipment to ensure accessibility for all learners. This approach supported ākonga to build understanding, confidence, and independence within each activity.
