Throughout the year, Taranaki Curriculum Days have provided primary and secondary ākonga with opportunities to participate in physical activities within the local community.

These experiences were designed to support the development of motor skills, self-advocacy, confidence, and social interaction through shared learning opportunities. Activities included Counterpunch boxing, Box Fit, soccer skills, rock climbing, and water safety programmes.

Funding received through Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa enabled ākonga and whānau to access regular after-school sessions, extending participation beyond Curriculum Days and strengthening community connections. These opportunities have increased engagement in physical activity, supported wellbeing, and provided meaningful experiences that contribute to the holistic development of ākonga while fostering stronger partnerships between school, whānau, and community providers.
