As a part of a National Assessment Service (NAS) visit to Dunedin, Reid undertook a functional sensory assessment that included assessing his listening skills and comprehension, as well as his tactile abilities.

Reid was able to show the skills he is developing in literary braille and tactile graphics, including reading and writing the braille alphabet.

Reid was also able to use the LEGO Braille Bricks (a teaching tool that LEGO has created that uses a braille letter on each brick). He used these to write his name and to create other words based on the letters in his name.

He was confident, accurate and engaged with all the activities that helped support braille literacy learning. Well done Reid!
