We were thrilled to have had the official opening of BLENNZ Taranaki on the 19th of March 2015.

The BLENNZ Taranaki community celebrated the opening of our new building with a waitata.

The Visual Resource Centre at Flight House New Plymouth Girls’ High School, was opened by Joshua Wolfe (figure 1), one of our learners.

Joshua was ably assisted by Andrew Judd, the Mayor of New Plymouth.

Karen Stobbs the Principal of BLENNZ came from Christchurch and Alison Prskawetz, Coordinator Visual Resource Centres, came from Wellington to attend the celebration and support our team.

We were pleased to have so many of our learners, their families and whānau, special education and health specialists present to celebrate the completion of this lovely building with us.

To finish off the celebration we all enjoyed some delicious colourful cupcakes (figure 2) made by BLENNZ staff and students.
