Kia ora, I am Alison Prskawetz the Assistant Principal for Regional Services at BLENNZ, working alongside our two Regional Practice Leads. I am also very proud to be leading the refresh of the Expanded Core Curriculum for BLENNZ.
I am the Assistant Principal of Regional services at Blind Low Vision Education Network NZ (BLENNZ). I have been working in the field of Vision Education for over 20 years. One of my passions in this field is around access to the curriculum with Assistive Technologies. As a Resource Teacher Vision I had a great opportunity to work one to one with students and trialling different technologies to enable them to access the curriculum and to become more independent with their learning.
Over the last two years I have had the pleasure of leading the implementation of the refreshed Te Mātaitaho New Zealand Curriculum within BLENNZ and being on the Implementation Design Working Group with the Ministry of Education.
